Horse Training

horse trainingThis course is for those who wish to learn how to start their young horse under saddle. You may have professional goals in the area of colt starting or you may want to simply start the young horse you have bred or acquired under the coaching of Steve.

Steve creates a very safe environment to start your horse, but this course is not for beginners or unconfident riders.

You need to have adequate physical fitness, have an adequate level of riding experience and confidence.

You should bring a horse that is not above your level of ability. Confidence is sometimes a hard thing to get, but is very easy to loose. If you are not sure if the young horse you have in mind is suitable, contact Steve.

The duration of the course is 9 days, 9am – 12 noon. You will learn how to teach your horse to accept the people and their leadership, our tools and saddling, and to be ridden. You will learn many skills and techniques about handling a young horse, their first rides, and more importantly learn how to read when your horse is ready to move on to the next step.

Please talk to Steve either by phone or email before booking into this course to ascertain if you have the necessary level of riding experience, physical fitness and confidence to participate in the course.

What one student said:

"There is no other place where you can learn from so many behaviorally different horses and a top natural horseman.

Steve Byrne will keep you challenged and allow you to learn what you live and live what you learn by experiencing important lessons."
